Rules
  1. The Awards are open to all low-cost home ownership schemes completed and ready for occupation in England between 1 April 2007 and 31 March 2008.
  2. Housing Associations may enter all categories but may only submit one scheme per category.
  3. Entries must be submitted no later than MONDAY 23rd JUNE 2008 - NOW CLOSED
  4. No late entries will be accepted. Any conflicts of interest or ties will be dealt with by the final judging.
  5. By entering the Awards, entrants give permission for entry material to be used for publicity purposes.
  6. The judges’ decision is final.

Costs/Fees

  • To enter any single category - £150 + VAT
  • Ticket for Awards Ceremony  (Includes pre-lunch drinks, three course lunch with wine and soft drinks, awards ceremony at 4* Deluxe Riverbank Park Plaza Hotel)
  • RSL's and Public Sector = £95 + VAT per ticket
  • Private Companies = £125 + VAT per ticket 

GUIDANCE FOR ENTRY

ENTRY FORMAT

PLEASE NOTE: There are a number of award categories that fall into both Property and Non-Property Awards and below is some guidance. Please ensure that you specify whether you are entering under Property or Non-property as the description and guidance are different.

PROPERTY AWARDS:

Best stand alone small development; Best RSL led large development; Best designed scheme; Best regeneration project; Best section 106 partnership; Best development partnership

  •  Description of development - 750 words maximum    
  •  Description of area and amenities - 500 words maximum
  •  Area and site location maps
  •  Floor Plans
  •  Bullet point of consumer specifications
  •  Maximum of 4 internal and 4 external photographs of development
  •  200 words maximum description of company/housing association

GUIDANCE:

750 words in each property submission should address as many of the criteria specific to the category as possible

500 words to cover the description of the area and the amenities

200 words maximum for the description of the company/housing association

TOTAL Number of Words per Property Entry = 1,450 - Please Note, you can use the entry template (download from the categories page). You can then use all 1,250 words for the criteria listed. Example (a to d). Then use the 200 words separately to describe the organisation

NON-PROPERTY AWARDS:

Excellence in customer service; Best contribution to sustainable communities; Creating and sustaining diversity; Most innovative marketing approach; Best partnership working; Best regeneration project; Best development partnership; Most effective marketing of a scheme; Best section 106 partnership

  • Description of entry - 1,500 words
  • Supporting documentation must be provided on CD in jpeg or pdf format
  • Submission can include MAXIMUM 6 visual pieces of evidence - not compulsory
  • 200 words maximum description of company/housing association

GUIDANCE:

1,500 words to cover description of entry

200 words maximum for the description of the company/housing association

TOTAL Number of Words per Non-Property Entry = 1,700 Please Note, you can use the entry template (download from the categories page) . You can then use all 1,500 words for the criteria listed. Example (a to d). Then use the 200 words separately to describe the organisation

  • Submissions should address the crieria specific to the category you are entering - PLEASE NOTE: you can download a template for entry.  See Award category page 
  • Additional Guidance - Judges will be looking for entries which cover for example, innovation, sustainability, planning and implentation, project objectives, project outcomes, best practice.
  • Supporting documentation must also be provided on CD in jpeg or pdf format
  • Submission can include maximum of 6 pieces of evidence - not compulsory

ALL ENTRIES

Entries must be submitted in an A4 ring binder folder. One folder to be used per entry. Entries must include TWO copies of the entry on CD and must include your company logo. Supporting evidence/images on CD to be in jpeg or pdf format - 1MB MAX

Common criteria against ALL categories - ALL entries should demontrate:

  • Innovation
  • Success against original objectives

Supplementary material

Entrants should include supplementary material, such as photographs (maximum of 4 internal and 4 external). This will enable you to expand on the success of your project, and will also be used by the Affordable Home Ownership Awards in promotional material. The Affordable Home Ownership Awards reserve the right to use photographs and other supplementary material as we see fit, without prior permission of the entrant. Please ensure you inform us in your application if you require us to credit photographs.
